The Nominations/Elections Committee is responsible for planning, developing and implementing the Council's election process. This Committee is charged with preparing a slate of nominees for each of the vacancies on the Board of Directors, which it shall circulate in writing to all voting members of the Council in good standing not less than thirty (30) days prior to the date of the published election dates. The Nominations/Elections Committee shall also develop electronic voting procedures and make all preparations for balloting and the election of persons to serve on the Board of Directors. The Committee shall conduct and manage the election process with oversight of the Board.
In order to run for office or vote in the 2017 election, you must be a voting member in good standing as an eligible voter defined below:
Is defined as an AMAC member in good standing (whose dues are current) and who is one of the following:
- Corporate Representative Member (one of two)
- Airport Representative Member (one of two)
- M/W/DBE Business Member (one vote)
- Individual Member (one vote)
Student Members do not currently have the privilege of voting in general meetings, nominating candidates for office, standing for office yourself or voting during the 2017 elections. This material is being forwarded to you to make you aware of the election activities, and second, to give you an opportunity to upgrade your membership to a category that will enable you to become a voting member prior to the election.
