Mack Wilbourn has been the Owner and President of Mack II, Inc., a quick service restaurant management company since 1971. His current franchises include Atlanta Bread & Bar, Baja Fresh Mexican, Famiglia Pizza, Phillips Seafood, Popeyes and We Juice It, which all are located in the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Mr. Wilbourn is also the Managing Partner of MWJ, LLC, a vending company in Atlanta, Georgia. He has managed the Coca Cola Vending Locations throughout the Atlanta Airport since 2004. Mr. Wilbourn has also started a small angel investment firm where he focuses on startup businesses that could potentially compete on the next level with the proper strategic resources and guidance. This firm also serves as an outlet for vetting potential business deals whether small or large.

A native of Magnolia, Arkansas, he attended Tucson High School and the University of Arizona where he majored in Accounting. Mr. Wilbourn’s invaluable experience in the restaurant industry started at one of his first jobs as a youth, Jack in the Box. On June 15, 1971, he along with his partner, Brad Hubbert became one of the first minority McDonald’s franchisees in the Atlanta area. Four McDonald’s restaurants, over 150 employees, and 21 years later, they sold their McDonald’s operation in 1992.

After which Mr. Wilbourn pursued joint business opportunities as a Managing Consultant with Paradies Midfield Corporation, The Rouse Corporation (Underground Atlanta) and Service America Corporation (Fulton County Jail Foodservice).

While working on the startup of the first Popeye’s Chicken in an airport and his Edy’s Ice Cream location at the airport in 1996, he became an Olympic Licensee as a unique color-changing glass and mug wholesaler for the Atlanta 1996 Summer Olympic Games.

He has earned numerous awards and recognition throughout his career including magazine articles, such as the Minority Business Entrepreneur, Franchise Update, Area Developer, and Automatic Merchandiser. He was awarded “2011 Corporation of the Year” by The Atlanta Business League. In 2016, he was inducted into the Atlanta Business League Hall of Fame, received the “2016 Corporation of the Year” by The City of College Park, and was nominated for Franchisee of the Year award by the Georgia Restaurant Association. He has recently been inducted to the his alma mater, Tucson High School, Hall of Fame.

Mr. Wilbourn, a longtime political supporter, has hosted 4 Democratic Presidents, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and Joe Biden. He has also hosted VP Harris and President Biden when he was in the office of VP at his home. In addition, he has hosted key leaders in Atlanta’s Government dating back to Mayor Maynard H. Jackson & Ambassador Andrew Young.

Mr. Wilbourn with his where-with-all has been a catalyst in helping others through serving in community and business organizations. He has served the Atlanta Business League, Butler Street YMCA, The Urban League, The NAACP, Zoo Atlanta, The Martin Luther King Jr. Center, The National Black Arts Festival, The Adopt a Street Program, The Atlanta Tip Off Club, Brain Injury Association of Georgia, The High Museum and Center for Puppetry Arts, the Local Advisory Board of Branch Banking and Trust in Atlanta, numerous youth organizations, local schools, etc. He is currently a Board member of Georgia Primary Bank, The Center Helping Obesity in Children End Successfully, Inc. (CHOICES), The Piedmont Foundation, The Smithsonian National Portrait Museum, and The Atlanta Business League. He is a member of Salem Bible Church. He has two sons, McKenzie and Marquis, two grandsons Mason and Mckenzie, Jr., and one granddaughter Madison.
