Jackie Jackson

Business Center Project Manager, The University of Texas at San Antonio Institute for Economic Development

Presently, Ms. Jackson works for University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), Institute for Economic Development, and directs  the Minority Business Development Agency’s, MBDA’s  San Antonio Business and Federal Procurement Supplement Centers.   In this capacity, She is able to parlay her extensive entrepreneurial background to work with high performance ethnic minority entrepreneurs.  Jackie, and her Teams, provide  Clients’ procurement, economic development, and  strategic direction that assist them in growing their businesses,  e. g.   organizational analysis/development, access to capital marketing, outreach, strategic, business and market planning; private and public procurement, operations, process improvement, technical, and management assistance.  This reinforces the Centers’ goal of “Providing resources so that our high-performance clients can make sound business decisions, and to help those businesses accelerate their growth.”

Prior to her UTSA employment, Jackie owned  consulting firms that emphasized  re-engineering,  business development,  strategic planning, proposal writing/reviews/evaluations, process improvement, business turnarounds, project management, and staff development training strategies.

Jackie held internal/external consultant, management,  and faculty/staff  positions in higher education, health care, public, for profit, not-for-profit settings. These include manufacturing, construction, facilities maintenance, staff development training,  public/child/social welfare, non-profits, and utilities positions. She has worked for management consulting companies specializing in operations, process improvement, staff development training, and business turnaround strategies that have generated multi-million dollar savings.  Jackie has held faculty, director, and chief operations officer positions. 

Ms. Jackson attended Hampton Institute, graduated from St. Augustine’s College with a B.A., and has an A. M. from the University of Chicago’s Social Service Administration Department.
