message from the president

Dear Members and Friends:

Planning has begun for our 2018 Annual Airport Business Diversity Conference, which will be held next summer in Seattle, Washington hosted by the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. This week while in Seattle I am diligently working to create a program that addresses today's most pressing challenges facing aviation, promotes diversity inclusion in airport contracting, provides ample networking opportunities and more.

We look forward to reuniting nearly 1,000 of the nation's most esteemed aviation leaders, business owners, aviation professionals and government officials. In the mean time, please check out a recap video of The Magic of Flight!

Sincerely,

brumfield

Catalyst Awards and Foundation Scholarship Luncheon

In the early years of federal business diversity regulation in the airport industry, the efforts in many companies were merely "compliance driven," Bob Bouta, Senior Vice President of Properties and Facilities for Avis Budget Group, Inc., recalls.  As a committed member of the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC), Bouta has worked to affirm that inclusion of minorities and women business owners and employees in the industry be recognized as "value driven." For that reason, and many others, Bouta was recently honored by AMAC with their Catalyst Award for Advocate of the Year.
