Teaming to Build Airports of the Future

Airports require the same type of architectural, engineering and construction (AEC) services as other transportation modes and types of development projects.

This seminar is designed for companies interested in airport AEC opportunities to meet the major players in the market, understand how to position to do business with the airport, understand the additional security, background checks, insurance and training that may be required depending on where the project is located.

Most importantly, models for teaming with primes to work on major projects will also be presented and discussed including joint ventures and Public-Private Partnership (P3) to design, build, finance, operate and maintain facilities built.

Overview of Upcoming Airport Projects and Opportunities

Building Airports 101 will provide an overview of the business of airports from an AEC perspective. Firms that are interested in exploring design and construction opportunities in airport infrastructure will learn the basics about the unique operating environment of an airport, as well as information about certification and diverse business resources.

10:45 am – 12:00 pm: Session 2: Before You Sign that Contract: Understanding and Minimizing Your Risks and Liabilities

Attendees of this session will receive tips on how to avoid legal pitfalls, minimize exposure and read between lines to identify language that may potentially put your company at risk. Our panel of experienced AEC professional will provide a basic overview of key considerations, common mistakes and misunderstanding often embedded in the fine print of a contract.

1:30 pm – 2:45 pm: Session 3: Construction Delivery Methods: Key Considerations to Maximize Opportunities

Attendees of this session will learn how to maximize their opportunity to participate in airport infrastructure work by gaining an understanding of various project delivery methods, such as Design Build (D/B); Design, Bid, Build (DBB), Construction Manager-General Contractor (CMGC) and Public Private Partnerships (P3s).
