Ron Evans

Ron is the Deputy Procurement Director for Supplier Diversity and Outreach, as well as the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Liaison Officer, for the Wayne County Airport Authority, which operates Detroit Metro and Willow Run Airports.

He has 35+ years of experience in managing public procurement operations and developing business diversity programs to assist small, minority and women owned businesses identify and compete for federal, state and local government contract opportunities.

Ron also owned and operated Bright Ideas Consulting for 5 years, providing consulting services to small business owners in the areas of business development, market analysis, new market identification, procurement assistance, and DBE/MBE/WBE/SBE certification.

Ron is a graduate of Western Michigan University, with a Bachelor of Business Administration.

He is an active member of Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC) and chaired the Host Committee for the AMAC Great Lakes Regional Forum at Detroit Metro Airport in April 2016.

He is also an active member of the Airports Council International –North America (ACI-NA) Business Diversity Committee, and was the primary author of “An Orientation on U.S. Airport DBE Programs”,  which was published by ACI-NA (May 2017) to provide an overview of FAA programs to assist those new to the aviation industry and/or new to the programs.

Ron is a frequent facilitator/moderator/presenter for local, state and federal Procurement and Business Diversity Program conferences.
