Patricia Bonilla

president
Lunacon Construction Group

Patricia Bonilla is a successful Latina woman in a men dominated industry. She is the president of Lunacon Construction Group, a Florida Hispanic-Women Owned Organization, founded in 2007. She began her career as a Project Engineer quickly becoming the project manager of complex institutional projects. Before taking a leap of faith to start her own business, she was the Head of the Construction Division for the City of Fort Lauderdale and had acquired 17 years of experience working with multi-million dollar projects while being a single mother.  Lunacon Construction, just like the common widely successful businesses, also started operating in her garage. Many thought she was making a mistake because it was against the odds as she formed her company at the depths of a national financial crisis. But the impossible was made possible. Lunacon has completed over 250 projects, now with a $75 million bonding capacity and serving Federal, municipal, and private clients. Patricia has also received multiple awards including 2014 State of Florida Minority-Owned Small Business Person of the year and Top Entrepreneurial Award Finalist Executive of the Year in 2016. Lunacon also received awards, including the 2015 American Express Government Contractor of the Year, 2016 South Florida Good to Great Award, the 2017 Excellence in Construction Award, and the 2018 ABC Diversity Excellence Award, among others.
