Harnetta Williams

Harnetta is the Director for National Policy and Compliance in the Office of Civil Rights at the Federal Aviation Administration in Washington, DC. She is responsible for directing the internal and external teams on Civil Rights and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) matters at the national level. The teams consist of Executive Resource Management, Internal Policy, External Policy, EEO Training Institute, and Special Emphasis/Outreach.

She is a native of Baltimore MD and a product of the public school system.  She attended the University of Maryland in College Park, home of the Terps.  She recently completed her Master’s degree in Post-Secondary Adult Education with an emphasis on Reading from Capella University.

Harnetta started her Federal Service with the Military District of Washington, Department of the Army.  She served in the United States Army Reserves for thirteen years.

Harnetta has worked for the Federal Aviation Administration since 1988.  She managed the agency’s Drug and Alcohol Testing Program before joining the Office of Civil Rights.  She joined the Office of Civil Rights in 1996 and has served in various capacities launching new programs.

She is looking forward to writing the next chapter in her life as a Reading Teacher at the College Level.
