Carolyn Ellison

Carolyn Ellison spearheads marketing, citizenship and community engagement initiatives for the Mid-Atlantic Region of Turner Construction and proudly points to the MLK Jr. Memorial, Capital Dome renovation project and on going work on Reagan National Airport as beacons that are representative of a great brand with a reputation for delivering an extraordinary customer experience in her region.

She is an entrepreneurial senior marketing executive with experience in building brands across diverse business models in both the for-profit and not-for-profit worlds. Her expertise lies in crafting strategy, inspiring innovation, and driving executional excellence and partnership for outstanding business results.

As both a corporate brander and strategic consultant, Carolyn has contributed to the success and award-winning campaigns of many top CPG brands (A-1 Steak Sauce, Cream of Wheat), premium distilled spirit marquees (Tanqueray Gin, Hennessy Cognac, Remy Martin Cognacs), and entertainment entities (Upper Deck, Leigh Steinberg, Universal Entertainment). In her role as the Vice President of Strategic Marketing for Scholastic Book Fairs, she spearheaded the development of a renowned, digitally driven engagement effort to support a world record setting summer reading initiative for children.

Committed to the education and development of the next generation of leaders, Carolyn has also served as an adjunct professor at Rutgers University, Touro College, New York Institute of Technology, and Pace University.  While working at the National Urban League, she managed the movement’s oldest and only national direct service efforts, which paired college students with professional mentors.  Her partnership work included crafting and managing engagement with executives from UPS, Johnson & Johnson, Avis, TIAA CREF, Snyder’s Lance, The WWE, Mattel, Starbucks, Anheuser Busch, Phillips 66, Cardinal Health, MetLife,   Major League Baseball, and Beats by Dre.

Carolyn holds a BA in Telecommunications from Michigan State University and currently serves on the Master of Science in Marketing Research Advisory Board.  She also holds an MBA from the University of Michigan and currently resides in Bethesda, MD, with her family.
