Informational webinar to provide a program overview will be held on July 24th, 2014.

ARLINGTON, VA – July 10, 2014 – The Airport Minority Advisory Council has partnered with Creative Insurance Concepts, Inc. (CIC) to launch the Airport Bond Assist Program (ABAP). The Airport Bond Assist Program was created to offer bond assistance to DBE, ACDBE, and concessionaires.

The ABAP addresses the bonding challenges often faced by disadvantaged businesses, and collaborates with resource partners, such as the Small Business Administration (SBA) to obtain surety bond guarantees. AMAC DBE, corporate and airport members will work one-on-one with licensed surety bond agents to secure payment, performance, and concessionaire bonds for airport and other public projects. The ABAP is a creative tool that allows airports and concessionaires to increase DBE and ACDBE contract opportunities; by overcoming bonding barriers in a project specific bonding pre-qualification process.

The program was introduced at the recently concluded Annual AMAC Business Diversity Conference, held in Denver Colorado on June 8 – 10, 2014. The second phase of the launch will be an informational webinar for AMAC member Diversity Business Liaison Officers (DBLO)’s, which will be held on July 24, 2014 at 2 p.m. EST.

AMAC president, Shelby Scales is excited about this ABAP, designed specifically for airports, and encourages members to take advantage of this resource to help meet their diversity goals.
